2009

To call it fabulous would be a total understatement. 2009 has been a amazingly fabulous year-I have been able to take part in sooooooooooo many wonderful things. From photographing a cupcake cookbook to photographing families & gorgeous weddings, I have been so blessed. I have been able to spend my time with inspiring, wonderful & beautiful people who have opened their hearts to me. The clients I’ve had this year were nothing short of awesome. I am blessed to have met all of my clients I have had this year & I consider each of them my dear friends. My clients have all helped me develop my talent & create my artistic vision & I am so grateful for each & every one of them. I am happy to have been able to capture the love, happiness & joy of all of my clients this year.

Here are my favorite photographs from 2009…may 2010 bring many more wonderful memories & fabulousness! With love & appreciation to all of my incredible clients of 2009….xoxo, marielle.

It was simple.  It was easy. Sam was the first person I’d ever dated who liked me for me. You know, the frizzy haired, think-before-you-speak, crazy clothed, sweet toothed me. Sam was the first who made me feel comfortable being myself & I am so lucky to have him in my life. He is the most incredible person I have ever met & I am beyond blessed to call him my love, my husband & my best friend. He drives me to be a better person, is constantly there to support me & cheer me on & he is hands down the best daddy on the planet. I’m excited to for what the future brings & excited to grow old with him.

We were married at the gorgeous Oakland Temple & I loved every single minute of our special day. My favorite details were our flowers (my bouquet was filled with green hydrangias & miniature artichokes-Sam’s boutennier was also a miniature artichoke), our fortune cookie wedding favors & my very favorite part of my wedding day was a surprise serenade from Sam in front of our guests. It was a fabulous day & we were so lucky to spend it with our closest family & friends!

Sam, thank you for making my life nothing short of perfect. Thank you for loving me for who I am. I am so grateful for you & I thank the Lord every day because you are in my life. xoxo, marielle.

And because no post is good without a photograph…here’s the photograph we sent out with our wedding announcements!

Merry Christmas!

12.22.2009

in Personal

I‘ll be honest-I loooooove Christmas! I love everything about it…the beautiful spirit that exudes from everyone during this time of year…sugar cookies rising in the oven…gifts wrapped under the tree with ginormous bows adorning them…eggnog…hymns & carols about the birth of the baby Jesus. It’s such a lovely, special time of year. I feel that at Christmas time we let our love for others shine through, we become a little more selfless & a little more thoughtful to our fellow man. How I wish we could keep the same spirit of Christmas alive throughout the year!

One of my fondest Christmas memories is waking up early Christmas morning with my sisters to try to peek at the gifts that Santa had brought. All four of us would crawl into bed together & excitedly talk about the gifts we hoped we would receive. We would laugh & talk until we eventually fell asleep. What I have realized as I’ve grown up is that my favorite Christmas memories are not those of gifts & presents…my favorite memories are of my family spending time together, being together & making memories together. I hold those times spent with my family as some of my most treasured gifts. I hope we can all take the time this Christmas to express our love for those special people in our lives.

Here are some of my very favorite photographs I’ve taken during the Christmas season. Wishing each & every one of you a very special Christmas-from my family to yours! With love to all, xoxo, marielle.

Baby Athen.

12.21.2009

in Portraits

My friend Corene is incredible. She is constantly doing kind acts of service for other people-from teaching young girls from church to cook, attending service projects on Saturday mornings (when the rest of the world is still sleeping), driving people to places when they don’t have transportation of their own, & making goodies for the needy just to name a few. And she does these things on a weekly basis, people! See, I told you she is incredible. She is always serving those around her & she does it with a smile on her face. She is one of the best examples of kindness & selflessness that I know.

Corene & her husband just had their adorable baby, Athen & let me tell you-he is beyond adorable! Because Corene is so wonderful with helping others, I know she will be the perfect little mommy. I am so happy that their little boy has made his arrival just in time for Christmas! I loved being able to photograph little Athen-he was such an angel! Rick & Corene, I am beyond happy for this new chapter in your life & I know you will be incredible parents! xoxo, marielle.
