I met Jacqui a few months ago at a mutual friend’s house. She & I sat in the kitchen for forever talking and laughing & I felt like I had been re-connected with an old friend. That’s how Jacqui is. She makes people around her feel good about themselves, makes people laugh & even gives out her shopping tips. Basically, she’s the type of person who you want to become B.F.F’s with. And as if she wasn’t cool enough already, she even has a super successful weight-loss business & a fun blog- it is sooooo inspiring & you should definitely go and check it out HERE! See, I knew you’d want her to be your B.F.F, too!
I was beyond delighted when Jacqui contacted me to do a family session of her sweet little family. They were so cute & really fun to spend time with. And guess what? Her family is just as fabulous as she is!

Late one night as I lay in bed, I sent a text message to my sister to see how things were going with her boyfriend, Jeffrey. A minute passed & my phone lit up with a text from Janessa.
It read, “We’re in love. DUH.”
I laughed out loud & felt the joy in my soul knowing that my little sister had found such love & happiness. And I felt even happier knowing that she was positive that it was love-she obviously wouldn’t use the word DUH unless she was 100% sure that this was it.
This is their story…
It was Superbowl 2008. Janessa arrived at the Superbowl party looking uber-fabulous as usual. The smell of nachos & the sound of people cheering & laughing was dizzying. Janessa looked up across the room & someone caught her eye-a boy in a green sweatshirt & a mile-wide grin. The boy in the green sweatshirt walked over to the couch where Janessa was and asked if the seat next to her was taken. As she said it wasn’t, Jeffrey sat right in Janessa’s lap. Shocked, surprised & totally smitten all at the same time, she let him sit on her lap for the remainder of the game. As they put it, “He couldn’t resist her tight white pants and she couldn’t resist his baby blue eyes & sweet Southern charm.”
They remained just friends as the year went on, keeping in touch here & there until Jeffrey called Janessa to see if she wanted to go out. That one date turned into many more dates, trips to Las Vegas, Laguna Beach, Reno & Lousiana. As they spent more & more time together, they built an amazing friendship as well as a deep love for each other. They knew it was love early on, but the more time they spent together it became more evident to them & everyone around them that they were just meant to be together. That they were totally perfect for each other. After seeing Janessa eat fried alligator & crawfish in Louisiana, Jeffrey knew he would never find another girl who would rock his world like Janessa did. A few months later, he took one knee and asked Janessa to be his wife. She said yes & they have never been happier in their whole lives.
Janessa & Jeffrey- you are the type of people who make me want to laugh louder, love deeper & dance in public more often. You are truly meant to be together & I could not be any happier that you have found this amazing love with each other. I am so excited for your wedding in October & I’m even more excited to have Jeffrey as my new Brother-in-Law! I love you both with all my heart. xoxo, marielle.

Today’s my 27th Birthday & I plan on eating obscene amounts of candy (I heard that Candy Corn is already in the stores…score!!!!), going out with my hubby & getting my hair cut in San Francisco! Happy Birthday to all my fellow Leos!
I knew this family was fabulous from the moment they stepped out of their car. Each member of this family is super cute, happy & friendly & up for anything. And the kids mom is a mega-babe. Seriously- can I puh-leeze look like Jenny after I’ve had three kids?!?!?
We started our session & within the first 5 minutes of shooting, the clouds gathered & there was a TOTAL DOWNPOUR! We waited it out & had a great time for the rest of their session (despite the wind & cold!). I loved the colors from this session-amazing! And the wet pavement after the rain looks awesome, too!

Loved this family. Like for real, I looooooooved this family. Such cute kids, such awesome parents & everyone was just soooooooooo easy to work with! Plus, I loved the location (Believe it or not, Christa was the FIRST out of all my Reno clients who wanted more of an urban look for her photos. Way to be awesome, Christa!)
