There are a lot of things that I love. Like foggy mornings in the Bay Area. My new boots. Candy Corn. Singing Queen at the top of my lungs. Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Eating Nutella straight out of the jar…I could go on & on…
Like I said, there are lots of things that I loooooove.
Something that I looooooooove more than any of those things I mentioned is when my couples laugh together…when they don’t take themselves too seriously. When they are fun, spirited & just make each other happy. This is Shariana & Will’s story….a relationship that is built on fun, laughter & having a fabulous time no matter what they are doing. They have been together for four years & are tying the knot in February & they could not be any happier!
I was lucky enough to fly out to Chicago to shoot Shariana & Will’s engagement session. It was freeeeeeezing cold but they were both such troopers & totally worked it like nobody’s business! I loved shooting in Chicago-it’s a place that’s filled with amazing buildings, Lake Michigan (which looks like an ocean more than a lake….) & beautiful places wherever you look. I was sooooooooo lucky to spend time in the Windy City & to spend some time I am excited for their wedding in Hawaii in February-I know it is going to be amazing!
Thank you, Shariana & Will for the fabulous time & for giving me the opportunity to get to know the both of you! I know you will both have a wonderfully happy life together & I can’t wait for your wedding in Hawaii!! xoxo, marielle.

On Sunday my little Hadley turned two! Please, someone tell me where the time went. I know it’s so cliche to say, but it literally feels like just yesterday that I was holding my sweet little newborn in my arms…kissing the top of her head, touching each & every itty bitty toe…& thanking God for this sweet blessing in my life.
Now she is a pretty amazing toddler…one who loves to sing everywhere we go…one who squeals, “Oh my goooooodness!” when she’s excited & one who just yesterday said, “You look pretty, Mommy!” She Absolutely melts my heart each & every day & I am so grateful to be her mother & I love her more than I can even express.
These photographs I took today are just as I want to remember Hadley as a 2 year old-bubbling with curiosity & filled with joy. Happy birthday to my sweet Hadley!

They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder. Never has this been more true than with Megan & Rob. These two lovebirds spent their entire time dating while in two different cities. Despite the geographical distance, they were able to get to know each other & fall head over heels in love. Megan & Rob are two ultra-fabulous individuals who are the most down-to-earth, sweetest people you’ve ever met. And they want everyone around them to be just as happy as they are. In fact, when I first spoke with Megan on the phone, we chatted for almost an hour & I felt as if I was talking to an old friend. She told me about Rob, about the details of their wedding & their plans after their big day. Her excitement was palpable & I could not wait to photograph their wedding!
Let’s be honest…I’m a huge sucker for details. Megan & Rob’s wedding at the Oakland Temple was nothing but detail after detail…handmade lovebirds on their cake…Megan’s handmade flower in her hair…birdcages that adorned the tables at their reception…toothbrush party favors that each guest received (Rob is a dentist & Megan is a hygenist-soooooo cute!) ….I could go on and on! The details are what make a wedding special & unique & Megan did a fabulous job thinking of all the details that would make their wedding reception gorgeous!
Megan & Rob-thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your beautiful day! I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know you both & I know your lives will be fun, successful & blissful! And I am so excited that for the first time in your relationship, you will be living in the same city! With much love….xoxo, marielle.

The love they share is simple. It’s the type of love where she cooks & he does the dishes. The kind of love where he starts a sentence & she finishes it. It’s the kind of love where they are best friends & also a perfect team. Their love is the kind of love that has grown over years of being together, years of depending on each other & years of being blissfully in love. Their love is simple, pure & still fabulous after being together for 10 years! If their past is any indication of what their future holds, it looks like there are many wonderful & happy days ahead for them.
I had a fantastic time meeting up with Heidi & Ian for their Bridals at the Palace of Fine Arts. The weather was totally perfect & we had a great time! Heidi & Ian are sincere people whose zest for life is contagious! I am so excited for the opportunity to document Heidi & Ian’s wedding in November. I know it is going to be gorgeous!

I am seriously obsessed with this photograph of Heidi & Ian. You guys, thanks for working it!

There’s something about the way they look at each other. The way Leslie’s eyes light up when Martin is near…the way Martin’s dimples appear on his cheeks as he talks about Leslie. They look at each other with such sincere trust, deep love & commitment. They look at each other as if to say, “I’ve been kissing you since High School & I still have the butterflies!” It is obvious that Martin & Leslie are a good fit & that their love will truly stand the test of time. They have seen each other grow, been each other’s rock through hard times & been the biggest cheerleader when the other needed it the most.
Leslie & Martin were married last month at the gorgeous St.Paul’s Cathedral in San Francisco. Their wedding was personal, touching & incredibly beautiful. Leslie & Martin had written love letters to one another that were simply mirrors of the other’s. Their letters spoke of their memory of meeting in High School, the joy they’ve felt as parents & their love & appreciation for each other. Tears rolled down both Leslie & Martin’s faces during the ceremony & a dry eye was hard to find among the guests of their wedding. That evening, friends & family gathered to celebrate Leslie & Martin’s new life together. And just like the first time Leslie & Martin met, the DJ pumped up the music & they danced the night away & spent the night in each other’s arms. Enjoy some pictures at the Palace of Fine Arts as well.
Leslie & Martin, I hope you know that I think the world of you. You are simply the most sincere people I know & I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know you better. Thank you for letting me document your special day-I am so lucky to have such awesome clients like you! Here’s to your new life together…without a doubt it will be beautiful! xoxo…marielle.
