I‘m headed out to Reno today to shoot a bunch of family photo sessions-I’m really excited! Before I leave, here’s a sneak peek of an engagement session (I’ll be posting the full session next week when I get back).

This second sneak peek is just for you, Nathan! Here’s what photos Crystal is willing to let you see before you get married!

Sorry, man! It looks like you are going to have to wait until January 2nd to see gorgeous Crystal in her incredible wedding gown!
I was so excited to get together with Melissa a few weeks after her wedding to shoot her bridals. Like soooooooo excited. Melissa is an extremely easy-going, incredible, beautiful inside & out kind of person. I knew that would make for a really fun, relaxing & amazing bridal shoot. Bridal photography just might be one of my favorite things on the planet. Aside from candy corn, that is…
Melissa-you seriously rocked this shoot! Thanks for being so much fun to work with! I loved getting to know you better & I had a great time with you. You are truly an incredible, ultra-fabulous & kind person!

This photograph literally takes my breath away. Melissa-you are stunning.

Love means different things to different people. To Elisha & Nick, love means trust. It means comfort. There is a sense of comfort & of peace when Elisha & Nick are together. It seems as though all the cares & problems in the world blow away in the wind when they are in each other’s presence. When they are together, everything is right in the world.
As Elisha walked down the aisle, tears streamed down Nick’s face as he first laid eyes on his soon to be bride. With Elisha’s arm wrapped tightly around her father’s, she smiled a knowing smile. A smile that suggested that she knew her love for Nick was nothing short of incredible. A smile that suggested that she knew he would always be the man of her dreams. Their wedding was held at the gorgeous Hacienda de las Flores in Moraga. It was such a gorgeous location to photograph! I was in love with the glow of the fall light, the perfect weather, the to-die-for Mexican food & I really loved the mariache band to who serenaded the guests after the ceremony. The setting was perfect & each guest was surrounded by the love & comfort that Elisha & Nick share with each other.
Elisha & Nick-thank you so much for having me photograph your gorgeous wedding! I know that the two of you will be so happy together & that the love you share will touch every person you meet. xoxo, marielle.

I love this photograph of Nick waiting patiently for his bride to walk down the aisle…

There are a lot of things that I believe in. I believe in love, miracles, God & being good to others. I believe that we have been put on this earth to help other people, to reach out to them & to help others in time of need. I believe in reaching out to others when they feel like they can’t take another step, I believe in giving to others & I believe that when we help others, that God smiles down on us.
Last week I received an email from a friend, telling me that one of her best friend’s daughters had just passed away. She was only 13 years old. I do not know this family who has just lost their child, but I felt saddened all the way down to my bones for this family. I cannot imagine the pain they must be going through. For this past week I have been thinking of ways that I can help this family because I feel so strongly that I should help someone who is in need…
To help this family, I have decided to donate a portion of the money I make for each family portrait session through the rest of the year to them. If you are interested in booking a session or donating money to this family, please contact me HERE.
I hope that as we approach the holiday season that we can remember to help others & to remember to give from your heart. Because after all, that’s why we are here on this earth. xoxo, marielle.

You could say that he had a thing for that the girl next door. Because, quite literally, Tiffany was the girl next door in Jesus’ (or Chuy-as his friends call him) neighborhood. She was the new girl, ready to start the 7th grade, full of hopes & dreams that she would make friends & like her new school. Never in her wildest dreams would she have thought that this was the year that she would meet the man who would make her the happiest girl in the world.
This is their story…
It was a hot August day when Tiffany & Chuy met. Tiffany’s mom was checking on the progress of their new home & insisted that she & Tiffany get to know some of their soon-to-be neighbors. Tiffany was reluctant to do so because….well, any 7th grader is reluctant to do something their parents tell them to do! Tiffany’s insisting mom was able to successfully drag Tiffany along to knock on the neighbor’s door. They were invited inside to sit & enjoy the cool breeze from the air conditioning. The sliding door opened into the living room & there.he.was. Chuy stood there in his yardwork clothes, his jeans, a baseball hat & a white shirt. And for the first time, Tiffany thanked her lucky stars that her mother was soooooo insisting! Chuy grabbed a cool soda for Tiffany & as they say, the rest is history. They spent their years together in high school, growing & experiencing life together & ultimately falling head over heels in love.
Tiffany & Chuy-you are such a fabulous couple. I love your sense of adventure & your fun personalities! I had a blast shooting your engagement session at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco-you both worked it! Thanks for being so much fun to work with! I am sooooooooooo looking forward to being your photographer for your gorgeous wedding next year! If your engagement session is any indication of what your wedding will be like, I know it will be filled with love, laughter & lots of fun. xoxo, marielle.
