I guess you could say that it all started in Oakland. It was here, after all where Melissa & Pat first met…it was here where they would meet up to go running around Lake Merritt…it was here where they would hang out at the Farmer’s Market…it was here that they enjoyed time just being together. And it was here that they fell in love. It was in Oakland that their beginning started. Melissa & Pat met on Match.Com & after a year of dating they knew that they were meant to be together. They began making plans for a fantastic wedding that would include their closet family & friends.

Melissa & Pat were married in a sunset ceremony at the Oakland Wedgewood Gold Course. As Melissa’s parents walked her down the aisle together, she grinned all the way down to her toes. Their ceremony was beautiful & as they walked down the aisle as man & wife, both Melissa & Pat were simply overjoyed. Melissa & Pat’s wedding theme was “Oaklandish”- celebrating Oakland & all of it’s quirks. Because, after all, Oakland played a part in their meeting & falling in love! Each table at their reception was named after some of their favorite spots in Oakland, from Lake Merritt to Arizmende pizza (hellooooooo-its my favorite place on earth!). Their family & friends danced late into the night & had a blast celebrating Melissa & Pat’s new life together. They didn’t just party-they PAR-TAYED!

Melissa & Pat- you are such beautiful people. Your exterior beauty shines all the way into your souls. You are two of the most genuine people I have ever met. Your happiness rubs off on all who surround you. I know you will have a beautiful life together making each other & those who become part of your lives very happy. With much love & gratitude…xoxo, marielle.

Their first dance was to Elton John’s song, “Tiny Dancer.” I literally had to restrain myself from singing this song out loud while they danced-I looooove Elton John!

Krissy & Bill are adventurous people. Lining the hallways of their home are numerous photographs of them atop mountain ranges in Nepal & Bolivia. Photographs of them with full, head-to-toe climbing gear, backpacks, ice picks & huge grins on their faces. They love taking part in incredible adventures & have been fortunate enough to experience the world & see it in a way most people might never see it. Their passion for adventure is more than obvious.

A couple of weeks ago their little baby boy Brandon made his appearance into the world- I think you will agree when I say that he is the sweetest little baby ever! I think that this adventure of becoming parents & the adventure that lies ahead as they raise little Brandon will be just as incredible as the summits they have hiked & the things they’ve seen. Being a parent is an adventure & I know that they are up for it!

Thank you so much for letting me take pictures of Brandon! He was so sweet & such an easy baby to photograph! Here’s to your big adventure ahead…I know you will be incredible parents & that when Brandon is old enough, he will be able to join you on your fabulous adventures! .xoxo, marielle.

Courtney & I go back. Like waaaaaaay back to the days when we were roommates competing for the title of Miss Nevada 2003. Yes, I was a pageant girl. And if you are wondering if that’s something I’m ashamed of, the answer is a big fat NO!! I have some very fond memories of myself & Courtney spraying on fake tanner while using Crest White Strips on our teeth & laughing like crazy! Being a roommate with Courtney was so much fun & we have remained friends ever since we both competed for the sparkling crown.

Nowadays Courtney & I aren’t working the stage in stilettos & a bikini…we are both mothers & we’ve both grown up in so many ways. We’ve traded our beaded gowns & Aqua Net for changing diapers & chasing our kiddos around. I do have to admit that being a mom is more rewarding than any glittery crown I’ve ever worn! It made me so happy to see how wonderful of a mother she is & even happier to see how sexy she is after having a baby! Seriously…take a look at Courtney & try not to hate her for being so sexy! I feel like a bad person because I took these FOREVER ago & somehow I missed blogging about it! Thanks again, Courtney for the fun shoot! You are amazing! xoxo, marielle.
