It all began amidst a group of college aged kids at a Halloween party. And it wasn’t just any Halloween party- it was my Halloween party! Amidst a sea of girls dressed as glittery wood sprites & guys dressed up as cavemen, Mike & Meagan spotted each other & began talking. And since that time, they haven’t been apart. They are such a darling couple & such a good match for each other. They married & had the most adorable boy EVER. They love to spend time together, travel to the Bay Area (woo woo!) & they are HUGE Oakland A’s fans…needless to say, the Johnsons are awesome people!
The Johnson’s were the second winners of my photo shoot giveaway that I held a few months ago. To refresh your memory, here is what Mike said in his entry…
“My family and I would love to have a photo session with you. You know every thing that Meagan has gone through with her cancer and we have not had family portraits since her hair has come back. We were actually just down in San Francisco yesterday and tuesday to have her follow up scans from the radiation that she had in Dec. The scans turned out great, which we obviously are very excited about. She has been after me for some time to get family pics done and I have just been pushing it off. Either because of bad timing or I had a zit. And my face is clear for now so I might as well do it. But the real reason is I love my family very much and I would do anything for Meagan. She has gone through so much and I could only stand back and watch. Sure I rubbed her back when she was sore and stood by her side when she was sick, but I never really knew what she was going through. I know this is something very small compared to what she has gone through, but I also know it is something she would love to do. Hopefully you’ll think about us.”
They have gone through a tremendous amount together & stayed strong through it all. They are such an inspiration to me & such wonderful, fabulous people who I’m lucky enough to say I know. I’m so grateful to have met up with them for this photo shoot-we had a lot of fun & it turns out that their son Brayden is my new BFF. Seriously-he was the easiest little boy that I’ve EVER photographed! Thanks so much, you guys for being so awesome! I can’t wait to hang out with you guys at an A’s game sometime soon! xoxo, marielle.
I knew this was going to be a fabulous session when this was the first photograph I shot…

I love Brayden. I asked him to show me some of his baseball moves & this is what he showed me. Soooooooo adorable. Look at how serious he is! ![]()

Which one is your favorite?!?!

Marielle, I cannot say thank you enough. Seeing these pictures of my little family brought tears to my eyes. I am constantly reminded of all of the trials and hardships that our family has gone through, but seeing these pictures confirms to me that we can get through anything. I am eternally grateful for my amazing hubby (if it wasn’t for you and your awesome parties, I wouldn’t have meet Mike that night) and my melt-in-your-mouth, to the moon and back, over the rainbow, simply adorable, little boy. Thank you for capturing the joy and love that we feel for each other. I can’t stop looking at these pictures because it shows exactly how I feel about my family and about my life. Even with cancer and all, I truly am the most lucky girl in the world. Marielle, as I have always said and continue to say, YOU ARE AMAZING! Thank you again and again. <3 <3 <3
Much love,
Meagan
PS – I'm thinking that an arranged marriage is in order. Brayden and Hadley…although, I'm pretty sure Brayden has a crush on you.
