January 2011

“It’s like I’m living a Fairy Tale,” David had told his mother before the wedding. And if you know Paige & David, you would nod in agreement. Because they are living a beautiful, wonderful & fun Fairy Tale. Their love is a Fairy Tale because they make each other laugh. They make each other smile. They lean on one another, lift each other up & make the each other a better person. Individually they are amazing people but when they are together, they are the most dynamic duo who ever walked the planet. And while they might not have a carriage made from a pumpkin or little talking mice as friends, their love is a Fairy Tale-one where a beautiful girl is swept off her feet by a man who will love her for forever. And that’s Paige & David’s story.

As the doors of the Reno Temple swung open on the beautiful January day, there stood Paige & David-both wearing smiles as big as the Grand Canyon. Yes-this was their day, the day that they became husband & wife, and this day was the beginning of their happily ever after. I was more than excited to be a part of their big day-every detail was perfection…and Paige & David were the most fun & fabulous couple to work with. I loved Paige’s stunning bouquet (green orchids?YES PLEASE), their insanely gorgeous wedding cake & every beautiful detail planned to perfection by their coordinator, Liane McCombs. Their reception was just like Paige & David-fabulous, fun & totally amazing. And it included a dance party like none other.

Paige & David-thank you so, sooooooo much for giving me the chance to document your own Fairy Tale. I wish you all the happiness in the world-and I truly know that you will both live happily ever after! xoxo, marielle.

Loooooooove this one…

Another one of my favorites…

Paige’s bouquet was incredibly beautiful…

By far one of the most gorgeous cakes I’ve ever photographed-look.at.the.edible.flowers!!!

Melanie is drop.dead.gorgeous. And she’s just as gorgeous on the inside as she is on the outside, which makes her even more fabulous. She is getting married in just a little over a week & I’m sooooooooo excited to shoot her wedding! Melanie had the idea of shooting at the Nevada Museum of Art-we were able to shoot up on the rooftop & I LOVED shooting there. The light & the location were fabulous. I had a really fun time shooting her bridals & literally couldn’t wait to post these photographs…enjoy!

Oh my…I love, LOVE the sun flare here…

I had a fun idea the night before Melanie’s bridals about paper hearts flying in the air…I cut these out late the night before & I love the way it turned out…

This goes without saying but I’m OBSESSED with Melanie’s shoes…

LOVE.

Their life is one mega adventure. Whether they are skiing, biking, running or just ordering takeout on the weekend, they are definitely, definitely having a blast. Sophie & Zack are the kind of people who love life-who love adventure & who love each other. And it just so happens that they are the best of friends. After being friends for three years, they began formally dating & have been inseparable ever since. Their relationship has been solid through everything- Culinary Art School, living in the Midwest, Law School in San Francisco & moving to Nevada. As time went on they knew that they didn’t ever want their adventures to end. So, one weekend in Lake Tahoe, Zack woke Sophie up early to go on a trail run. On the drive there, Zack pulled off to the side of the road, dropped to one knee, pulled out a ring & asked Sophie to become his wife. Through her tears of joy, she said yes…and they’ve never been happier!

Sophie & Zack are planning their wedding for this summer & I am so excited to be  a part of it! If their engagement shoot is any indication of what their wedding will be like, I know that their wedding will be filled with lots of laughter & fun. We had a great time meandering through the alleyways in downtown Reno & we found some awesome places to shoot! Annnnnnnd they brought their darling dog, Roo with them-she was so much fun to photograph! I won’t lie-I love, love LOVE how these turned out! I had a blast & literally feel so lucky to be able to document Sophie & Zack’s new adventure together!

Now, onto the fabulousness….

I love these two photographs because it shows their fun & happy personalities…

Sophie has some killer boots. I won’t lie-I’m waaaayyyyy jealous.

Favorite. Seriously-how cute are they?

I’m obsessed with this one…

I am so lucky that I have three beautiful sisters, who all let me pick out their outfits, drag them to a fun location & use them as my models for photographs. I love, love, LOVE photographing my gorgeous sisters. Here is Janessa back in Autumn…the leaves were changing & the weather was perfect.
