It’s been said that romance can blossom anywhere. And with Katrina & Adrian, that’s exactly what happened! Amidst the hustle & bustle of the busy restaurant Applebees, the 2 for $20 deals & their delicious french fries-this was where their story began. Katrina was waitressing there when she first met Adrian. He had come to visit his brother (who worked at Applebees, as well), saw Katrina & waved at her. Although she didn’t know who he was, she waved back (Katrina said-he was too good looking to NOT wave back!) And that’s how it all began. Since that day in Applebees, Katrina & Adrian have been together ever since, becoming each other’s best friend & falling crazy in love. A few months ago as they danced under a star filled sky, Adrian go on one knee & asked Katrina to be his for forever. Being around them gives people a glimpse of their sweet love for each other-they are considerate towards each other, they have a fantastic time together & without a doubt are going to share a life of happiness together!!

They are getting married in May & I’m honored to be their photographer! Knowing them, I know that their wedding will be stylish, fun & super fabulous. We attend church together & it’s been so much fun to get to know them over the past few months. Katrina & Adrian are the types of people who make everyone around them happy. We had to re-schedule their engagement session two times because of the hard rain we were having-we finally picked a gorgeous day with no rain & gorgeous blue skies! We had a great time together-I’m so, SO excited for their wedding in May!!! Now, onto the fabulousness…

Favorite. Favorite. FAVORITE.

Katrina’s ring is gorgeous! Way to go, Adrian!

It was on the beautiful campus of Cal Berkeley that Taylor & Jeremy first met. In their architecture class, more specifically. Jeremy overheard Taylor say that she was from San Diego. He had his eye on her for some time & once he heard that they shared the same hometown, Jeremy knew he had something to talk to her about. He approached her after class, letting her know that he was also from San Diego. And you could say the rest is history. They quickly became the best of friends-doing everything together & loving every minute of it. On a quick three-day trip to New York City, Jeremy knew that it was time to ask Taylor THE question. So while they walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, Jeremy took one knee as he asked Taylor to be his wife. She said yes!!! And that is their story.

Taylor & Jeremy are fun, energetic & suuuuuuuuuper fabulous. They LOVE everything about San Francisco, they love working out (in fact-they had run a 5K before their engagement session-who does that?!?!?!), they enjoy finding new restaurants to explore & they love everything about architecture. Their wedding will be held at the Cal Berkeley campus-where their story began. I am so excited to be a part of their special day in August!

They wanted to go to the iconic parts of San Francisco for their engagement photographs-we shot all over San Francisco from the Embarcadero to China Town to Grace Cathedral. It was so much fun spending time with them while exploring San Francisco. San Francisco has some of the most amazing places to shoot & I was excited to shoot in a few places I’ve never photographed. We had a fabulous time & I’m so excited for their wedding! Enjoy the photographs…

I love the feel of these two photographs so, SO much…

This photograph cracks me up. The woman with the balloons has such a stinky look on her face!

Looooooove this one…

Holy moly, people. I am fortunate enough to say that I’ve been able to photograph Wendy Paul’s amazing creations yet another time. I’ll be honest here- I’m jealous of myself for being able to bask in the sweet smells of Wendy’s kitchen, nibbling on a cake bite with one hand while photographing with the other. Life is way sweeter when you are in Wendy’s kitchen. And what makes it even better? The fact that she literally had 10 pounds of candy corn in her candy stash. HOLYCOW.

Wendy is so fabulous & I think that her cake bites show just how fun, creative & amazing she is. She has worked SO hard to create 101 amazing recipes for her upcoming cookbook (to be released in August!!!). I am really excited for Wendy-she deserves all the success that the world has to offer & I’m grateful for all the time I’ve been able to spend with her! While working on these photos, I came thisclose to licking my computer monitor…just incase the taste of the cake bites came through…just kidding. kinda.

If you haven’t had the chance to purchase Wendy’s previous cookbooks, go check them out! Her recipes are EASY, tasty & beautiful! Her cupcake cookbook & her cookie cookbook are pure perfection. Trust me.

These were incredible…maple cake bites with BACON on top. Oh my…bacon certainly makes my world go ’round…

Peas in pods…I loved these!

How fabulous would these be if they were served as favors at a wedding reception? Glittery sprinkles? Yes, please.

I literally can’t look at the turkey ones without laughing…their googly eyes get me every time!

For them, falling in love meant no turning back. It meant that after years of friendship that they were ready to be together forever. It meant that they were ready to handle life together-no matter what came their way. Meet Shana & Eugene-two charismatic, fabulous & hilarious people who are over the moon in love. They’ve known each other for 12 years, traveled the world together & had fun the.entire.time. They truly are each other’s best friend. And while on a trip to Las Vegas, Eugene popped the question after the Belaggio water show with a stunning ring. Shana was completely stunned & answered an enthusiastic, “Heck yeah!!!” That makes me laugh-Shana & Eugene are so fabulous & so perfect for each other. And knowing that I’m lucky enough to photograph their wedding next month makes me want to say, “Heck yeah!!”

Since they are both huge Giant’s fans, they wanted some of their photographs taken at AT&T Park. It was such a neat experience-we were able to go anywhere & everywhere at the park! It was such a fun location to shoot & we had a great time together. I am literally beyond excited for Shana & Eugene’s wedding! If their wedding is anything like they are, I know that their wedding is going to be fun, fabulous & perfectly perfect. I can’t wait to be part of their day!!! Now, onto my favorites…

Eugene was sooooooo excited to be sitting here!

My favorite…

Which one is your favorite??

There are so many ways that you can tell that their love is real. And it’s in the small things-the way that Bryan’s eyes fix on Melanie’s smile. The way that Melanie quietly intertwines her fingers with Bryan’s. It’s in the way they talk with each other…in the way they laugh together. It’s in the way they dance together. Their love is truly beautiful & completely real. And as Melanie & Bryan emerged from the Reno Temple on their sunny wedding day, everyone in attendance could feel their love. Their happiness was not only obvious-it was totally palpable. It was a perfectly beautiful day for two perfectly beautiful people.

One of my favorite parts of their wedding was that Melanie & Bryan gave me so much time for photographs. After the formal family photographs at the temple, I had a few hours with them simply for bride & groom photographs, which is pretty rare. I love being able to have lots of time with my couples for their bride & groom photographs-it’s honestly one of my favorite things! We were able to go to a second location after the temple for more photographs-I was honestly in heaven. Some of my favorite details from their wedding were: their Shabby Apple bridesmaids dresses (so cute!), their stunning cake, Bryan’s tie & cufflinks from England & Melanie’s glamorous white flower in her hair. Now I’ve been to some fun wedding receptions but I think that this one definitely takes the cake-their reception was a blast! Everyone danced like crazy & Melanie even did the worm in her wedding dress! Their family & friends danced the night away while celebrating Melanie & Bryan’s new life together.

Melanie & Bryan-you guys are awesome. It’s a wonderful thing to meet two people who are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. I am so grateful to know you both & it has been so much fun to get to know you both over the past few months. I adore you both-your happiness & joy is so infectious. I wish you all the happiness, joy & dance-offs that the world has to offer! With much love, marielle.

Married!!!!

My favorite…

We moved to a second location & Melanie changed from her veil to a fabulous flower in her hair…thanks to Meagan for the photograph on the right…
