He was her childhood crush. Together they would run around, looking for lizards in the sun. Their friendship was put on hold when Tammy’s family moved away, but Shane was always in the back of her mind. Years passed and she still wondered where he was-was he married? Was he happy? Even after all those years, Tammy still was interested in her childhood crush from so long ago. She decided that she would write him a letter-to see how he was doing, to tell him that she loved the time they had spent together as children. The letter was sent to Shane’s sister & after almost a year, the letter found it’s way to Shane. They got back in touch only to find that they were both living in California. They reunited & over the course of time they realized something that they knew when they were just kids-that life was just better, more fun & more amazing when they were together.
It was a rainy Tuesday morning at the San Francisco City Hall when they became husband & wife. The rain fell in small drops from the sky as Shane & Tammy walked into City Hall but their smiles were a mile wide. Theirs was a very small wedding & we ended up at the San Francisco Japanese Tea Gardens for photographs afterwards. It was a lovely day & I was lucky to spend it with such lovely people. I can’t say enough good things about Shane & Tammy. They are sweet, genuine & they love each other like there is no tomorrow. I feel so lucky to have met them & to have documented their intimate wedding.
Shane & Tammy-thank you soooooo much for giving me the chance to get to know you both! Your love story is touching & beautiful and I feel lucky to have been a small part of it. I know that you will find happiness, joy & many more years of love together! xoxo, marielle.

Love this shot of them headed inside for their wedding…

San Francisco City Hall is gorgeous…

I LOVED Tammy’s dress & her lovely bouquet…

There was a protest outside City Hall so instead of avoiding it altogether, we decided to join them. This is one of my favorites from their day!

The rain let up & we headed to one of my favorite locations, the Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park…

Their story began in the classroom at UVU. Morgan & Dallon found themselves enrolled in an Ethics and Values class, a required class that neither of them had any desire to take. At the beginning of the class, the teacher mentioned how it was required that each student participate in 20 hours of service, and that if we weren’t interested in the service, that they should drop the class. Morgan toyed with the idea of dropping the class because she simply wasn’t interested in the 20 hour service project. After thinking it over, it was set in her mind that she would drop the class immediately. pronto. right away.
But.
But….
But then her plans instantly changed the second the classroom door swung open & Dallon walked in. Suddenly she was certain that she would NOT mind doing the service project, especially since it gave her the possibility of being in class with the most handsome man she’d ever laid eyes on. When it was time for the class service projects to start, Morgan & Dallon were put in the same group. They began to get to know each other quickly-they had a lot in common & instantly hit it off. After a date on Halloween, they realized something so important: that they could be 100% themselves around each other. They began hanging out together, having fun together & falling in love. Their love story has evolved over the space of a year and a half, and it is something that is truly beautiful to see. A few months ago, Dallon secretly flew to Nevada to ask my father’s permission to marry Morgan, swept her off her feet, decorated her room with balloons & asked her to be his wife. In a nutshell, it’s the best love story you’ve ever heard.
Morgan is my youngest sister & it is wonderful to see her so in love!!! I’ve photographed each of my three sister’s engagements & weddings and it is such a joy for me to capture these exciting moments in the lives of my favorite people on earth. When they got engaged, we started thinking of fun ideas for their photos. We came up with some awesome locations that included a beautiful field, a carnival, a vintage airplane & an abandoned barn. Over a two day engagement session with 1200+ photos taken, I was finally able to narrow them down to some of my favorites. And I totally won’t lie-I actually cried when I was editing these photos. It’s crazy to think that my baby sister is so grown up, so beautiful & so in love. What a joy in my life it was to capture this exciting time in their lives! They are getting married in August at the Oakland LDS Temple & I am so excited! Although I shoot some amazing weddings, I know that my little sister’s wedding is going to be my favorite wedding of the year. Hands down. Now on to the photographs!

One of my favorites…

While we were driving around, we saw an airplane hangar with actual war planes from the 1950′s. The guys inside were so kind that they let us use the planes for the photos-can you say awesome!?!?

Love how these ones with the bubbles turned out!

We found an awesome carnival & I am obsessed with how fabulous the carnival photos are!!!

The day before their wedding, Adrian called Katrina his Princess. And if you’ve seen Katrina & Adrian together, you know that it’s true-Katrina really is Adrian’s lovely princess. You can tell by the way he talks to her, the way he treats her, the way he looks at her. When you see them together, you just know that they literally are a perfect match. The way they treat each other & talk about each other is so sweet-they truly treat each other like royalty! And as they were married in front of their families & friends on a cloudy Saturday afternoon, you could see it written all over their faces: they were beyond excited to begin their fairy tale life together! It was a beautiful day that celebrated the love of two beautiful people.
Their wedding was the perfect reflection of Katrina & Adrian-it was so fun & soooooooooooooooo fabulous. I loved all the classic, chic details that were so perfect. As always, I loved their paper lanterns (seriously I die a little bit inside every time someone decorates with them!), I loved the red Vans that the groomsmen wore, the black bridesmaids dresses with the classy red bows, their beautiful white cake & I especially loved the fact that they played Justin Bieber at the reception (incase you didn’t know-I looooooove JB-even though I’m almost 30 years old…haha!) Their wedding was a true celebration of the love that Katrina & Adrian have for each other & I felt honored to be a part of it.
Katrina & Adrian-I love you guys soooooooooooooooo much & feel lucky to call you my friends! I am very grateful that I’ve been able to document your amazing, beautiful wedding. You hold a special place in my heart & I feel blessed to know you both. I can’t wait to see all the exciting things that the Lord has in store for you. Wishing you all the happiness & joy in the world! xoxo, marielle.

It goes without saying but Katrina was a beautiful, beautiful bride!!!

Katrina & Adrian’s friend let us borrow her adorable red Mini Cooper for some photos! I love how it looked…

Favorite. Favorite. Favorite.

I loved how all the groomsmen wore red Vans…

It happened on a rowboat in England. As Brian & Anjali vacationed in Europe with Brian’s family, he knew it would be the perfect time to propose to his sweet girlfriend. He had brought the diamond ring with him on their trip & he knew that he was going to propose. As they went on a boat ride together, Brian took a knee & asked Anjali to be his wife. Surprised, shocked & beyond excited, she said yes! The royals have nothing on Brian’s smooth moves!
Brian & Anjali had been together since they attended U.C Davis-they lived in the dorms in a large group. They always had fun together & after a one-on-one date, they realized that there was simply something there. Maybe it was the fact that they had so much fun together. Maybe it was the fact that they were such good friends. Maybe it was because they were meant to end up together. Whatever the reason, one thing is certain-that they make each other soooooo ridiculously happy. When you talk to Brian & Anjali, their zest for life & their love for each other is palpable. They live each moment to the fullest & are simply a blast to be around.
They borrowed a bicycle built for two for their session & I loved how the photos turned out with the bike! It added such a fun element to the photos. We shot the photos on the campus where their story began-I can’t wait for their wedding next month!

If you’ve ever been to the UC Davis campus, you’ve seen the Egg Heads that decorate the campus…I loved having them in a few of the photographs…

Katrina & Adrian’s bridal photographs make me want to cry because they are such a perfect couple. Seriously-could the location, Katrina’s dress, their red Vans & this couple be any more perfect? I think not. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding on Saturday!!!!
