The day had finally come. It had been eight years since Nicole first met Luke…it had been eight years of sticking by each others side through thick & thin. Eight years of love, laughter & fun. It had been the BEST eight years of their lives. It had been eight years since their love story began. And now, the day that Nicole & Luke would become husband & wife had finally arrived. Like two kids waiting for Christmas morning, Nicole & Luke were excited, happy, elated, and overjoyed to begin this new chapter of their lives. Their story is beyond incredible…they have been each others anchors during the difficulties of life & buoyed each other up.
As Nicole walked down the aisle with her sweet father, Luke’s smile could have not been any bigger. Their ceremony was sweet, heartfelt & simply wonderful. They spent the day surrounded by their family & friends-dancing, dining & taking it all in. As they left their wedding reception under a shower of sparklers, you could see it in both their eyes that this day couldn’t have been more perfect. And I’m sure they would agree with me when I say that it was undoubtedly the BEST day out of those eight years that they had been together.
This wedding was particularly meaningful to me because I LOVE Nicole’s family. I photographed her sister’s wedding in October & I literally feel like a part of their family. They are wonderful, wonderful people with hearts bigger than the state of Nevada. During their engagement, Nicole emailed me a few times to ask my opinion about certain ideas for her wedding. It literally meant the world to me that Nicole would want to hear my two cents!! The hard work that went into their wedding was evident with every single detail-from the peacock feathers that graced every table, chair & bouquet to the perfect wedding cake (with stuffed cannolis!). Nicole’s silver glittery shoes were to die for & the venue was fantastic.
Nicole & Luke….I love you guys SO much! You are a fantastic couple whose kindness, love & admiration for each other is beyond amazing. If there is any couple in the world who knows how to make it through the tough times together & emerge as a closer couple, it’s you. Thank you for letting me share in the wedding of your dreams-I am so blessed to have clients who I know will be my friends for years to come. Wishing you all the happiness, love & joy that this great big world has to offer. With hearts as big as yours, I know that there will be sooooooo much joy in your marriage. With much love, XOXO, marielle.
I died a little inside when I saw Nicole’s shoes….sequins, feathers AND diamonds? Yes please.

Nicole & Luke opted to do a first look which I loooooooove….they both cried & it was such a sweet, intimate moment.

Married!!!

My favorite…

The sunset was gorgeous outside & I snuck Nicole & Luke away from their wedding reception…and I’m sooooooo happy they let me!

Love this shot of them entering their reception!

They were on a boat ride together when Haley saw a bottle floating in the water. She grabbed the bottle from the water & inside was a letter from Jonathan telling her the reasons why he loves her. It didn’t take too long afterwards until Jonathan pulled out a ring & asked Haley to be his wife. They make each other so happy & it’s obvious that they really are the best of friends. I was so lucky to be able to photograph Haley & Jonathan’s engagements in San Francisco. Haley & Jonathan are getting married in Utah this summer & I wish I was shooting their wedding because I know it’s going to be amazing!
I love these photographs because Haley & Jonathan were sooooooooo comfortable in front of the camera & so crazy in love with each other! And I love the locations that they chose for their session-shooting in San Francisco is one of my favorite things-the architecture, the feeling of the city, the colors…it never gets old to me! It was fun to get to know them better while exploring the city.
Here are my favorites from their session…Congratulations to both of you! xoxo, marielle.

Not far from the turquoise waters of the North Shore in Oahu, Heather & Jordan rode scooters together on the way to their wedding. And if you know Heather & Jordan, this makes total sense. You see, Heather & Jordan are always up for having fun together…whether it be skydiving in Moab, last minute train rides from one state to the next & other fun adventures-they are up to having fun, especially if they are together. So it suited them that they would take the exciting way to get to the Laie Temple-on scooters! They figured that the best way to celebrate their love for each other was to have a fun destination wedding in Hawaii. Their wedding day was a total reflection of who they are as a couple-it was a lovely wedding with lots of fun elements! Their families gathered together for an intimate backyard reception & after the reception was over, Heather & Jordan jumped into the water in their wedding clothes! They are a total blast to be around & they make each other truly happy.
Heather has been my friend for the past four years & it makes me beyond happy to see that she’s found her perfect match. Together she & Jordan are an amazing couple, a happy couple & a couple who make each other whole. I feel so blessed to have been a part of their special story-being there for their wedding was a wonderful moment for me to witness.
Heather & Jordan-thank you for everything. Thank you for being my friends & for having me out to Hawaii to photograph your perfect wedding. You are truly a gorgeous couple-not only on the outside but on the inside, as well. I cannot wait to see the many adventures that you have ahead of you! I know that your lives together will be filled with joy because you’ve found each other. With love from the bottom of my heart, XOXO, marielle.
Hawaii is quite the perfect place for a wedding, if you ask me!

One of my favorites…

I could have shot at the Laie Temple all day long!

They rented scooters to ride away from the temple & I love how the photos turned out!

We headed over to Laie Point where the views are incredible…

Heather’s sweet (and talented!) mother made her dress. Don’t you agree that it fits Heather & the windy weather perfectly?

You know how much I love when brides wear fun shoes….but look at Jordan’s awesome shoes!

After their reception, they got in the water! I was one happy photographer to say the least.

There are weddings that are fun. Then there are weddings that are really fun. And then there’s Becky & Devin’s wedding which was funner (yes, I know it’s not a real word) than any wedding in the history of weddings. There was more laughter at this wedding than at any other wedding I’ve ever photographed. And the reason behind all the fun & laughter? It’s because that’s just who Becky & Devin are. They are two of the sweetest, funniest & funnest (there I go again) people I’ve ever met. So needless to say, their wedding was a blast! From the best man doing a magic trick to give Devin the rings to Devin & his mother’s first dance, it was non-stop fun. Their day from start to finish was effortlessly gorgeous & I loved being a part of such a fun & beautiful day! It was amazing to see what a perfect fit Becky & Devin are-they truly are a darling couple!
The wedding was held at Tannenbaum up by Lake Tahoe & it was a perfect venue for their wedding. I loved the beautiful blue colors that they used, I loved Becky’s beautiful bouquet & I LOVED their bridal party & families-they were all so easy to work with & so awesome to photograph! A special thanks to my second shooter, Kirtsen who is a fabulous person & incredible photographer.
Becky & Devin-it is so obvious why you guys chose each other-because you make each other so happy! I know your lives will be blessed with tons of love & laughter…thanks again for choosing me to document your perfect day! xoxo, marielle.

My favorite shoe shot of the year so far…

I love this photograph because it is so them!

I LOVE this shot of Becky…..she looks amazing!!!

The dancing was SO much fun! Loved Devon’s first dance with his mom!

At the end of the night, they snuck out onto the balcony. Love this shot…

When I asked them about their relationship, Neil said it perfectly…that he & Vanessa are like two puzzle pieces that are jagged & crazy on one side, but that they are two puzzles pieces that fit together perfectly. He & Vanessa met long ago in school & re-connected again through Facebook. Vanessa had friended him but had forgotten how they had originally met. When Neil reminded her who he was-and what class they had together in High School, it all clicked. HE was the kid who sat in the back of class who was funny & mischievous. HE was the kid who made her laugh. They met up for a first date & the rest was history. Now they are a fantastically FUN couple who are absolutely hilarious together. They are planning a wedding next month at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. It’s a total understatement to say that I am SO excited for their wedding! If their engagement session was any indication of what their wedding will be like, I know I’m in for an exciting & fabulous wedding!
When I first met up with Vanessa, I knew that I wanted to be her new BFF. She is energetic, fun, exciting & has the best wardrobe I’ve ever seen. When I asked her what Neil is like, she told me about how awesome he is-and she was right! They are literally the perfect match and their engagement session was a total blast. They brought their own props-and even brought along their darling dog Beefcake. We.had.so.much.FUN! I am so excited to share these photographs with you all-so here they are!
We started out in San Francisco where it was sunny & gorgeous…

Favorite…

Neil wasn’t too excited about holding the flowers…obviously!

Once we got down to the Embarcadero, it was pouring rain!!! Vanessa & Neil were total champs, though & I love how the photos in the rain ended up!

We took a dinner break while it poured rain outside & when we finished eating, the light outside was perfect….and the rain was gone!

This photograph perfectly shows just how much fun Vanessa & Neil have together-I LOVE it!

Vanessa’s mother gave Neil this awesome wrestling mask for Christmas-these photos were so much fun to take-we were all laughing so hard!!
