It all started with his car. Yes, his car. Luke’s gorgeous, midnight blue mustang GT. It pulled up into the 7-11 parking lot where Nicole & her friends were hanging out & that’s where it all started. Nicole approached Luke & asked, “Can I have your car?” He smiled his sweet smile & offered to give Nicole & her friends a ride in his car. And that’s how it all began.

Their relationship began just as friends & morphed into something wonderful. Something incredible. Something that without a doubt will last forever. Nicole & Luke have literally seen each other through life’s unexpected challenges & made it through as a team. If it’s going out for a night on the town or simply playing a game of Mario Kart, Nicole & Luke have the most fun when they are together. Because, quite frankly, there is no Nicole without Luke. And there is no Luke without Nicole. And yes, it’s as simple & as fabulous as that.

I had the pleasure of photographing their engagements at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. We had so much fun & I loved being able to see how sweet & kind they are to each other. They speak sweetly to each other, they care for each other & they are without a doubt each other’s best friend. Nicole & Luke were the winners of my February giveaway. If you haven’t read their amazing story, check it out here & bring some tissues when you read their incredible journey that they have gone through together.

Nicole & Luke, I had such a fun, fabulous time with the two of you! I am so grateful to have had the change to spend time with you & document your special love for each other! I can’t wait for your wedding! With  much appreciation…xoxo, marielle.

When they first met, Kim told Joe that she had a list. A Bucket List, to be more accurate. On her list, Kim had listed the things she wants to accomplish in her lifetime. And like a good boyfriend, Joe made it his goal to help Kim check off items off her list. Kim’s list was no easy task to check off because she had items on that list like oh, you know…LEARNING THE FLYING TRAPEZE!!!!! Seems like a daunting goal to check off, but not for Joe. He planned a surprise trip to Oakland where he & Kim took a flying trapeze class! As they began to spend more & more time together, Joe continued to arrange special dates where Kim would be able to check yet another item off her list. After dating & experiencing incredible adventures together, Joe realized that Kim might have another item to check off her list…so he surprised her by flying out to Atlanta & popping the question with a knockout ring. She said yes & they’ve never been happier!

There is something amazingly electric about Kim & Joe. Perhaps it’s the way they laugh when they tell the story of their engagement. Perhaps it’s the way they excitedly talk about their wedding plans. Perhaps it’s the spark between Kim & Joe that is what makes them so electrically fabulous. No matter what it is, all I know is that I looooooooved spending time photographing Kim & Joe for their engagement session! Joe & Kim are adventurous & love to travel & explore new cities. They love spending time skiing, snowshoeing, snorkeling & water skiing. They look at their lives as an adventure & they are ready to take life by the horns! They are fun, fabulous & I am so excited to photograph their backyard wedding in October!

Kim & Joe…thanks for the fun engagement session! I love clients like you who totally trust me & my sometimes crazy ideas! Thanks for being so easy & fun to work with! I can’t wait for your wedding because I know it will be fun & fabulous, just like the two of you! xoxo, marielle.

Love can make people do crazy things. Things they’d swear they would never do. In Melissa’s case, she swore that she would never, ever move to Montana for a boy. But pretty soon Casey came along, swept her off her feet like any proper cowboy would & had her packing her bags to move to Montana in just eight months time. She swore she’d never move to Montana, but she never imagined how deeply she would fall in love, either.

Individually Casey & Melissa are kind & caring people but together they are just pure dynamite. Plain & simple. In the few hours we spent together, I could see the sweet love they have for each other. There is just something about the way he lights up when she laughs…the way their hands laced together makes them both smile…& makes everyone around them happy. It is obvious that they are meant to be together & even more obvious that when they are old & grey, they will still love each other just as they do today. It’s simply beautiful.

I met up with Casey & Melissa on Christmas Eve for an incredible engagement shoot. We met at a red barn, filled with horses, old rusty sheds & even a tractor! Seriously-I was in heaven & we had a great time stomping through the mud for these shots! I am so lucky to have such wonderful & fun clients like Casey & Melissa & I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in April!
