Engagements

It’s been said that romance can blossom anywhere. And with Katrina & Adrian, that’s exactly what happened! Amidst the hustle & bustle of the busy restaurant Applebees, the 2 for $20 deals & their delicious french fries-this was where their story began. Katrina was waitressing there when she first met Adrian. He had come to visit his brother (who worked at Applebees, as well), saw Katrina & waved at her. Although she didn’t know who he was, she waved back (Katrina said-he was too good looking to NOT wave back!) And that’s how it all began. Since that day in Applebees, Katrina & Adrian have been together ever since, becoming each other’s best friend & falling crazy in love. A few months ago as they danced under a star filled sky, Adrian go on one knee & asked Katrina to be his for forever. Being around them gives people a glimpse of their sweet love for each other-they are considerate towards each other, they have a fantastic time together & without a doubt are going to share a life of happiness together!!

They are getting married in May & I’m honored to be their photographer! Knowing them, I know that their wedding will be stylish, fun & super fabulous. We attend church together & it’s been so much fun to get to know them over the past few months. Katrina & Adrian are the types of people who make everyone around them happy. We had to re-schedule their engagement session two times because of the hard rain we were having-we finally picked a gorgeous day with no rain & gorgeous blue skies! We had a great time together-I’m so, SO excited for their wedding in May!!! Now, onto the fabulousness…

Favorite. Favorite. FAVORITE.

Katrina’s ring is gorgeous! Way to go, Adrian!

It was on the beautiful campus of Cal Berkeley that Taylor & Jeremy first met. In their architecture class, more specifically. Jeremy overheard Taylor say that she was from San Diego. He had his eye on her for some time & once he heard that they shared the same hometown, Jeremy knew he had something to talk to her about. He approached her after class, letting her know that he was also from San Diego. And you could say the rest is history. They quickly became the best of friends-doing everything together & loving every minute of it. On a quick three-day trip to New York City, Jeremy knew that it was time to ask Taylor THE question. So while they walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, Jeremy took one knee as he asked Taylor to be his wife. She said yes!!! And that is their story.

Taylor & Jeremy are fun, energetic & suuuuuuuuuper fabulous. They LOVE everything about San Francisco, they love working out (in fact-they had run a 5K before their engagement session-who does that?!?!?!), they enjoy finding new restaurants to explore & they love everything about architecture. Their wedding will be held at the Cal Berkeley campus-where their story began. I am so excited to be a part of their special day in August!

They wanted to go to the iconic parts of San Francisco for their engagement photographs-we shot all over San Francisco from the Embarcadero to China Town to Grace Cathedral. It was so much fun spending time with them while exploring San Francisco. San Francisco has some of the most amazing places to shoot & I was excited to shoot in a few places I’ve never photographed. We had a fabulous time & I’m so excited for their wedding! Enjoy the photographs…

I love the feel of these two photographs so, SO much…

This photograph cracks me up. The woman with the balloons has such a stinky look on her face!

Looooooove this one…

For them, falling in love meant no turning back. It meant that after years of friendship that they were ready to be together forever. It meant that they were ready to handle life together-no matter what came their way. Meet Shana & Eugene-two charismatic, fabulous & hilarious people who are over the moon in love. They’ve known each other for 12 years, traveled the world together & had fun the.entire.time. They truly are each other’s best friend. And while on a trip to Las Vegas, Eugene popped the question after the Belaggio water show with a stunning ring. Shana was completely stunned & answered an enthusiastic, “Heck yeah!!!” That makes me laugh-Shana & Eugene are so fabulous & so perfect for each other. And knowing that I’m lucky enough to photograph their wedding next month makes me want to say, “Heck yeah!!”

Since they are both huge Giant’s fans, they wanted some of their photographs taken at AT&T Park. It was such a neat experience-we were able to go anywhere & everywhere at the park! It was such a fun location to shoot & we had a great time together. I am literally beyond excited for Shana & Eugene’s wedding! If their wedding is anything like they are, I know that their wedding is going to be fun, fabulous & perfectly perfect. I can’t wait to be part of their day!!! Now, onto my favorites…

Eugene was sooooooo excited to be sitting here!

My favorite…

Which one is your favorite??

Their life is one mega adventure. Whether they are skiing, biking, running or just ordering takeout on the weekend, they are definitely, definitely having a blast. Sophie & Zack are the kind of people who love life-who love adventure & who love each other. And it just so happens that they are the best of friends. After being friends for three years, they began formally dating & have been inseparable ever since. Their relationship has been solid through everything- Culinary Art School, living in the Midwest, Law School in San Francisco & moving to Nevada. As time went on they knew that they didn’t ever want their adventures to end. So, one weekend in Lake Tahoe, Zack woke Sophie up early to go on a trail run. On the drive there, Zack pulled off to the side of the road, dropped to one knee, pulled out a ring & asked Sophie to become his wife. Through her tears of joy, she said yes…and they’ve never been happier!

Sophie & Zack are planning their wedding for this summer & I am so excited to be  a part of it! If their engagement shoot is any indication of what their wedding will be like, I know that their wedding will be filled with lots of laughter & fun. We had a great time meandering through the alleyways in downtown Reno & we found some awesome places to shoot! Annnnnnnd they brought their darling dog, Roo with them-she was so much fun to photograph! I won’t lie-I love, love LOVE how these turned out! I had a blast & literally feel so lucky to be able to document Sophie & Zack’s new adventure together!

Now, onto the fabulousness….

I love these two photographs because it shows their fun & happy personalities…

Sophie has some killer boots. I won’t lie-I’m waaaayyyyy jealous.

Favorite. Seriously-how cute are they?

I’m obsessed with this one…

It’s a simple story, really. Heather was literally the girl next door. And because they were neighbors, Heather & Jordan would frequently see each other & spend time together. But their love story truly developed with the help of planes, trains & automobiles. You see, Heather & Jordan aren’t the types of people who sit & wait for life to happen. They are the types of people who make life happen-and have a fabulous time doing so. During the course of their relationship, they’ve taken spontaneous trips to Denver to watch baseball games (and then rode the train home just so they could say they’ve been on a train ride!), skydiving to celebrate Heather’s birthday, picnics in Moab while the sun rose, weekends in Las Vegas, Albequerque to visit the Hot Air Balloon Festival, Disneyland…you name it, they’ve been up for the adventure. Heather fell in love with his patient, understanding attitude & Jordan was smitten Heather’s beautiful confidence. Both Heather & Jordan live life to it’s fullest & don’t waste a minute being bored. When they aren’t traveling, they watch the Food Network, find new restaurants & just have fun together. During the course of dating, they realized that being together was a fun & fantastic adventure that they didn’t want to end. They are tying the knot in Hawaii in 2011 & I’m excited to be a part of their big day!

Heather has been one of my BFF’s for the past few years-she used to cut my hair & now she owns her own salon in Utah! She is talented, fun & fabulous to boot. It’s fun for me to see how happy Jordan makes her…I always think that my friends deserve to be sooooooo happy & there is no doubt in my mind that Jordan makes Heather beyond happy. I am so excited for them-2011 will be a fabulous year to remember for them & I can’t wait for all the incredible adventures they have yet to share together! They both live in Utah but flew out to the Bay Area to visit & to have their photos taken! We had a great time together in a few of my favorite places-Jingletown in Oakland & the Persidio in San Francisco. I loved their outfits, their energy & I loved how much fun we had doing these photos! Heather & Jordan-I love you both & can’t wait for your forever to begin! xoxo, marielle.

Love.

Don’t hate on Heather for her fabulous Christian Louboutin shoes. And don’t hate on Jordan for his rad socks!

These two are my favorites. Love, love, LOVE these…
