Mini Sessions.

UPDATE: My two days of mini sessions sold out in just a few hours so I am offering just one more day of mini sessions in Oakland. Get on it now if you’d like me to photograph your family this year! Okay, my friends! It’s that time of year again where the leaves start changing color, the air has that crispy feeling in the air AND it’s the only time of the year I offer mini sessions!  I love the families I have been able to photograph during these mini sessions in the past & I can’t wait to meet new families, as well!

For those of you who don’t know, I ONLY shoot family sessions once or twice a year so the slots are extremely limited. Mini sessions are a great way to have a quick, FUN photo shoot at a fraction of the regular price. You will be getting priceless, beautiful images of your darling family that you will LOVE. I promise. You might even shed tears of joy when you see how stinking cute your family is in the photographs.

Each mini session is $249, includes a 30 minute time slot & a digital download of the high resolution images.  You will receive a print release so you can print the images at your leisure, wherever you’d like. You can take the images & make your own photo albums, Christmas cards, birthday gifts, magnets, canvases, wallpaper, billboards….you get the point.

Please scroll to the bottom of this post to select the time slot of your choice & pay through PayPayl directly from there. Make sure to note the location as I am doing mini sessions both in Reno, NV and Oakland, CA. The location of the mini sessions will be emailed to you two weeks before the photo shoot with directions, parking information and where to meet up with yours truly.

I can’t wait to take more darling photos this year of your families! Hope to see you there! XOXO, marielle

Meghan & Jesse. St. Ignatius San Francisco Wedding.

There are people who you can tell were just made for each other. This is how Meghan & Jesse are. When Jesse talks, Meghan beams with joy. And when Jesse looks at Meghan, you can just see in his eyes that she completes him. They mean more than the world to each other and you can see it on both of their faces. Their love is just like them: sweet, kind and real. And on rare, warm summer day in San Francisco, Meghan and Jesse started their life together. San Francisco in the summer is typically cold, foggy and misty…but not that day. As Meghan quietly dressed in her beautiful wedding gown, the sky was as blue and clear as the ocean. Their day was filled with tears of complete joy, laughter & love that was completely palpable to everyone there.

Meghan & Jesse were married in the gorgeous & iconic St.Ignatius church in San Francisco. The church is filled with so many beautiful sculptures, columns and at every corner there is something beautiful. It was a perfect setting for their ceremony. After they said “I do,” they went to all of their favorite San Francisco landmarks for photos-Golden Gate Park, Chrissy Beach & the Palace of Fine Arts for photos. It was great to be able to have so many backdrops for photos! They soon joined their friends for their reception at the San Francisco Film Centre-a vibrant and fun place for their party! Friends enjoyed drinks, amazing food, lawn games & a live band. It was certainly a beautiful night to remember!

Meghan & Jesse-you are such a beautiful couple-inside & out. You are kind, caring and thoughtful to everyone around you. Thank you for being the kind of people who enrich the world with your zest for life! I cannot tell you how much I loved LOVED being a part of your special day-thank you, thank you to my new friends! XOXO, marielle.

I am so excited to have been nominated for the Best of the Bay’s in the category for Best Wedding Photographer for 2014. The past two years I was blessed enough to come in second place! To my past clients who have helped me to get here, I am SO grateful. You guys are the best.

This year, I think it would be fun to do what I call a win-win. If you can take a second to vote for me following THIS LINK, that would be awesome. You’ll need to go in, sign in and write a tip so I can see that you voted. The Time I Got Out of a $350 Ticket.

It was finals week in college. I had pulled an all-nighter scrambling to finish my final project for my Costume Design course. I had put my whole heart into my final project-and I loved how it turned out (in fact, I loved it so much that 10 years after college, I still have it!). The course didn’t require a presentation of our project-all we needed to do was turn it in before 10:00am that morning. And I.WAS.RUNNING.LATE.

I raced to campus in my car & parked right next to the building where my class was. All I needed to do was park, run inside, drop off my project & run like the wind back outside before I got a ticket. In my haste, I decided that I would just quickly park in the Faculty Parking Lot. There were signs EVERYWHERE that said that there was a $350 fine for anyone who parked there without a Faculty parking pass. I parked my car, ran as quickly as I could in my 3″ heels to the class & ran back to my car(side note that has nothing to do with the story: my 3″ heels were adorable).  As I turned the corner, I saw the cop putting a ticket on my car. “NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!” I screamed, as dramatically as possible (if you know me, you know that this is how I react to everything.) I pleaded with the cop, explaining my situation, that I was only parked there for 5 milliseconds & that I didn’t have $350 to pay for the ticket. I may or may not have tried to squeeze out a tear (unsuccessfully…crying on cue is really hard!!!) The stiff face on the cop let me know that I was NOT going to get out of this ticket.

BUT WAIT.

I had an idea.

It wasn’t the best idea I’ve ever had.

BUT it was worth a shot.

Earlier that day, I had purchased a jumbo sized bag of Tootsie Rolls. And as always, I had purchased this bag of candy to eat entirely by myself. And as always, I had this giant bag of Tootsie Rolls in my purse. I slowly reached for my purse & said to the cop, “Listen, if you don’t give me a ticket, I will give you this ENTIRE BAG OF TOOTSIE ROLLS.” He sat there for a second, looked at me as if I was crazy & finally shrugged his shoulders & said, “Ok. But don’t tell anyone.” And that, my friends is how I got out of a $350 ticket. True story.

I am obsessed with candy. I love sweets & candy more than anyone you’ll ever meet (trust me on this one). So when Wendy Paul told me she was coming out with a fourth cookbook that had to do with sweet, sweet ice cream, I was so excited! So excited, in fact, that she didn’t even need to bribe me with a jumbo sized bag of Tootsie Rolls. She is one crazy talented woman in the kitchen & her ice cream is AMAZING. Here are my favorites from the shoot for her cookbook, due this summer….
