I met Olivia a few years ago when she was in middle school. I was so impressed with what an easy-going, caring & fun person she was. She is a friend to all around her, someone who knows how to make every situation fun & she is beautiful inside & out. She has grown up & now she is headed out to BYU Hawaii to start college-I’m soooooooo jealous! I know that she is going to have a great time in Hawaii!! I’m so happy to call her my friend & even happier for the fabulous adventures that are in store for her…

Olivia-you’re gorgeous!

Here’s my youngest sister, Morgan. She has a thirst for fun, adventure & is obsessed with candy canes. It’s true. Morgan is always seeking the good in every person…she loves to laugh, play her ukulele  & just have a blast. She is someone who is truly beautiful inside & out. I sure do love my little blue-eyed sister.

While she was in town a few months back, we thought it would be fun to do a quick photo shoot. You might not be able to tell from the photographs, but Morgan is a semi-fearless Mosquito warrior. She was literally fighting off mosquitos the ENTIRE shoot. I’m not going to lie, I thought it was pretty hilarious. I don’t know if Morgan felt the same way but she was a great sport nonetheless.

Morgan has been spending her entire summer as a counselor for our church’s summer camp. She has such a vivacious spirit that I’m sure the kids there are just loving her to pieces. I love you, Morgan! You rock my socks!

I‘m just going to say it: I basically worship this family. Seriously. I have been lucky enough to know the McClain family for about five years now through our church. I have seen their family serve selflessly, give with their whole hearts & stand as awesome examples of goodness to everyone around them. Each of them are wonderful, easy going, fun individuals & together as a family they are simply awesome. In essence, they are the kind of family that I hope my little family turns out to be like. I had the chance to snag them up for a quick, fun session & I LOVED it.

Which one is your favorite?

It was evident early on that they were just meant to be together. Kyrsten & Ben are both fun, easy going people who both have art running through their veins. So it didn’t come as a surprise when they met that they naturally began to want to know each other better. He was a musician. She, a film student. And as they began to spend more time together, they realized that they never wanted to be apart. Later on, as the waves lapped up onto the shore at La Jolla Cove, Ben proposed to Kyrsten with a gorgeous ring & a promise to be together forever. As they began planning their wedding, they realized that they couldn’t wait to be married. They decided after Thanksgiving that they would be getting hitched at Christmas time. And the reason was simple: they wanted nothing more than to be husband & wife! They had a small, intimate wedding in San Diego & they would have had it no other way! Because they only had a month to plan their wedding, they didn’t have time to have many great photographs of themselves. I was soooooo excited when Kyrsten contacted me about taking some photographs of them! I loved meeting up with them for a fun shoot! When you meet Kyrsten & Ben, you quickly realized that hey are a perfect pair who are perfectly matched!

Kyrsten & Ben are passionate people who love cooking, watching foreign movies & just being together. They love each other, encourage each other & support each other with the talents that they both have. They’ve been married for six months & you can just see how excited they are to spend the rest of forever together!

Um…….can you say favorite? I LOVE this photograph…

I‘ll never forget when Mark & Kym had us over for dinner. We ate hot dogs. Please don’t be fooled…these were not just any hot dogs-they were beyond delicious, perfectly cooked Bratwurst. As we sat down to eat, Kym handed around a plate of Sauerkraut that she had MADE FROM SCRATCH. Wait. Let me say that again: She made Sauerkraut from scratch. You see, Kym is the type of person who celebrates everything in life… she is the type of person who makes everything (even a hot dog dinner) incredible..And that’s why she’s amazing.

Just a few months ago, Kym found out that she has cancer. But she did just as Kym does in any situation…she looked at the situation & made it hers. She bought some darling scarves, had her hair cut & colored & called me up for a photo shoot. Because Kym is the type of person who looks at the glass as not only half full, but completely full. She counts her blessings & truly accentuates the positive in everything she does. She is strong, wonderful woman who I admire. And if there is anyone who is going to give Cancer a run for it’s money, it’s Kym.

I loved getting together with Kym & her sweet husband Mark for a photo shoot. They are so in love & so sweet towards each other. I love the way that Mark looks at Kym & I love how Mark makes her laugh. They are two exemplary people who I adore & I loved spending time with them for this session.

Mark & Kym: thank you both so much for this fun shoot! You guys are so perfect together & it is so obvious how much you support & love each other. Thank you for being my friends-I simply adore you both…xoxo, marielle.

Which one is your favorite?

She is vivacious. Sweet. Bossy. Funny. Smart. Perfect. She is the perfect little bundle of happiness & I’m lucky enough to claim her as my sweet little girl. And she is by far the most gorgeous, perfect & fabulous person I will ever capture with my lens. And I love her with all my heart.

Yesterday I got Hadley all dolled up & took her on a little photo shoot. This is such a sweet & darling age & I wanted to capture her in all of her curiosity & sweetness. Here’s Hadley in all of her 2.5 year old glory….

Oh please. Seriously-I want to squeeze those chubby cheeks.

I guess you could say that it literally was all in the cards. That Tiffany & Bud’s paths were meant to cross. Tiffany was working as a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas. Bud was on vacation & just happened to be playing at Tiffany’s table.  And they both agree that from the moment they met, that their lives were forever changed.  Tiffany instantly noticed Bud’s charm & loved his sense of humor. Bud told Tiffany that she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen in his life. And that’s how their story began….

After they met, Bud’s vacation ended & he flew back home to Canada. After being home for a few days, he tracked Tiffany down online & they began emailing & texting each other. They eventually mustered up the courage to call each other on the phone. Something clicked between the two of them &  they decided that they needed to meet up again. Bud booked a flight to Vegas & that’s when they just knew that they were undoubtably in love.

Tiffany moved all the way up to Canada so she & Bud could be together. They are a fun, fantastic couple who love to be together more than anything else. I was lucky enough to snag them up for a session while they were visiting family in the Bay Area. It rained SO HARD during parts of this shoot but we had a blast! I know Tiffany from High School (gooooooooo Huskies!) & it was neat for me to see how happy she is with Bud. They wanted some fun shots of themselves in an urban area & I was so excited to take them to this location! Here are my favorites from their fun shoot!

I first met Garrett last year at his sister’s wedding. When his mom contacted me about shooting Garrett’s senior portraits, I was super excited. Knowing how fabulous his sister was in front of the camera, I was sure that being photogenic was in their family gene pool. And I was sooooo right…

We decided that we should shoot his senior portraits at the UNR campus. It was such a perfect day, the campus was empty, the lighting was gorgeous & beautiful trees & flowers in bloom. Garrett was so easy going, so fun to talk to & such a positive, happy guy. He is a drum major in his school band & is majorly–I mean MAJORLY talented. Didya check out his feathered hat? He let me try it on…see-I told you that he was awesome. We had a great time walking around campus, talking about high school, talking about things we’ve put inside microwaves (forks, cd’s…the list goes on & on) & talking about music. Garrett is a great guy & I know that there are wonderful opportunities ahead for him!

Meet the darling, sweet & totally gorgeous Wagner family. I’ve known Brittany & Carl for quite a few years now & it was so much fun to see how their family has grown! They have two of the most adorable, well behaved kids on the planet & I was so lucky to meet up with them for their family photographs.

Brittany & I go waaaaayyyyy back to the days before I owned a flat iron. In fact, it was years ago when we became friends at church camp- we would spend time laughing & dressing up in crazy spandex. Brittany has a wicked sense of humor & she is as gorgeous on the inside as she is on the outside.  It makes me so happy to see that she has found a wonderful husband & now has a sweet family. I loved watching how sweet she & Carl are not only with each other but with their sweet children. They are fabulous parents & such kind, genuine & funny people.

Believe it or not, it was a total blizzard in Reno just two days before we took these photos! Luckily for us, the clouds parted & we had dry, wonderful weather for their shoot! Thanks, you guys for the fun time-you are such a sweet little family…xoxo, marielle.
