Brian & Courtney had a big wedding planned for last summer. As they got further into planning, they realized that the planning of it all was taking away from the actual spirit and meaning of their wedding. So, Courtney called me last spring and said, “Are you available in April instead of July?” She told me how the only thing that mattered to her was that she and Brian could be married with their closest family and friends there. And that’s what they did: they ditched the idea of the big, planned out, detailed wedding and were married in a grove of pine trees in the forest. In fact, they were married in the same spot where Brian proposed to Courtney. I can honestly say I don’t think there is anything more romantic than that!! In the stillness of the forest Courtney & Brian held hands and promised each other the world. It was so memorable to be there in a small group of people as we all stood and witnessed their union in marriage.
Although their wedding was simple, I absolutely loved how at home and comfortable everyone felt. At the beginning of their ceremony, the officiant asked everyone to step in so they could be closer to the bride and groom as they made their vows. Courtney wore an incredible blush dress with silver details which I loved because it was unlike any dress I’ve seen. Her bouquet was also sooooo beautiful-the arrangement of the pale pink, black and white flowers was stunning. Their day was spent talking and laughing with their closest friends & celebrating the love that Courtney and Brian share.
Courtney & Brian-I loved how you focused on what was really important for your wedding day…the love you share between each other and the family and friends who have shaped your lives. Seeing those things was more beautiful than any centerpiece, party favor or wedding cake could ever be. And thank you so much for having me document your special day! It was a wedding I will never forget. Wishing you joy and so much love in your lives together! XOXO, marielle.
I was six months pregnant at their wedding! Thanks to my second shooter, KayLynne for taking an action shot of me in my pregnant glory…
