Sara & Shail had the most colorful and fun wedding I’ve been to! Everywhere you looked there were splashes of saturated color, vibrant dresses and tons of happy, dancing wedding guests. The way a wedding should be! Sara & Shail have been dating long distance and finally they were able to be married and start their lives together in the same city! They were married on Treasure Island’s Pavillion by the Bay in September, which is such a stunning time of year in the Bay. The sky was a piercing blue, the water on the Bay was calm and the weather was downright spectacular. The venue looks right out to the skyline of San Francisco and you can see both the Bay & Golden Gate bridges! It is an incredible venue and it was the perfect setting for Sara & Shail’s wedding.
I have never photographed an Indian wedding before & I have to say that it was incredible experience. Before the wedding ceremony, Shail gathered with his family and friends as they danced to the beat of a drummer. He rode a white horse as everyone danced and followed him to the ceremony. It was such an energetic way to start the wedding celebration! Sara was walked down the aisle underneath a canopy of fuschia fabric carried by her bridesmaids. Their ceremony was filled with family, traditions, laughter and love. And DANCING! Their wedding guests sure knew how to bring the party!! Both Sara & Shail looked amazing-I could not get over the detail of the henna on Sara’s hands. Her gown was heavily beaded and accented with striking pink tones-it was amazing!
The reception was held inside the tents at the Pavilion, where the pink, white and gold color scheme was on display. Sara was so excited to give all of their guests gold pompoms at their seats so they could wave them as the bridal party entered the room. As Sara & Shail were introduced, the song, “Cheerleader” played and everyone shook their pompoms and cheered. It was so fun and such a cute element to their special day.
Sara & Shail-thank you for choosing me to photograph your stunning love story. I hope you love the photos as much as I loved taking them! XOXO, marielle.
The detail underneath Sara’s wedding gown was mind blowing…
