The second day of Sonia & Robert’s wedding celebration was their Sikh wedding ceremony. On this day of celebration, Robert arrived to the ceremony site on a horse. His family and friends were led to the ceremony by two men singing and drumming. Everyone danced their way up the hill to the temple as Robert followed on the horse. At the top of the hill, Sonia’s family was waiting for Robert’s family so they could begin the rest of the ceremony. Indian weddings are rich in beautiful ceremonial elements throughout the entire day. Their ceremony was held in the Sikh temple and after the ceremony we were able to wander the beautiful Gurdwara Sahib grounds for photographs.
It was so fun to watch all the family dance and sing as they led Robert up to be married. Everyone was so excited for him and it was a special moment to witness. Sonia’s wedding dress was stunning. The level of detail and embroidery were extraordinary! After their wedding ceremony was finished, family members each came to the newlyweds and hugged and kissed them, letting them know how happy they were for them. I really love moments like that because it is what weddings are about: the love that the couple has for one another as well as the love and joy that the families have for the bride and groom. Here are my favorites from day 2 of this wonderful wedding celebration…
